Founded in Istanbul in 1991, our company began producing refined olive oil and acid oil, a feed grade vegetable oil, in 1994, contributing to the economy and employment at our facility in Havran, Balıkesir. Our facility spans 8,000 m², 2,500 m² of which is enclosed. Our facility includes a physical, chemical, and biological treatment unit, as well as an acid oil production unit. For this purpose, soapstock and tank bottom crude oil residues from the neutralization and vinification stages of refinery plants are processed in accordance with European Union vegetable oil industry standards for recycling production. The produced oils are tested in state-of-the-art laboratories and shipped using specially equipped and certified vehicles. Annual production capacity is 15,000 tons of soapstock, 5,000 tons of acid oil, and 10,000 tons of refined oil. Due to our activities in this area, our company was granted a “Vegetable Waste Oil Recycling Business License” by the General Directorate of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, pursuant to Article 24 of the Hazardous Waste Control Regulation, pursuant to Articles 8, 11, and 12 of Environmental Law No. 2872. TUNA CHEMICAL INDUSTRY AND TRADE INC. produces and markets oil to the feed and chemical industries in Turkey and abroad.
With the rise of environmental awareness in our country, our company contributes to both the environment and the economy by processing and exporting by-products generated by our own factory and other refined oil production plants.
